European Oak
European Oak Quercus Petraea (Quercus Sessilis)
The European oak corresponds to the same species of Q. sessilis, for which reason it is also worked by cutting by creasing method. These oaks come from different countries, where we can stand out the forests of Mount Semenic in Romania; from the Carpathians in Ukraine and Hungary.
The oaks from this area provide an aromatic complexity similar to that of the French oak, but slightly more intense towards notes of clove, almond, coconut and vanilla, which is due to the significant contribution of furfurals, eugenol and lactones to the wine over time.
